SCCA Reclassifies EVO and STi to Touring Car Class

Announced today, the SCCA has moved the two competing brands to the Speed World Challenge TC series. SCCA Pro Racing President and CEO Robert Wildberger had this to say “In reviewing the specifications, it makes much more sense for the Mitsubishi and Subaru to be in the Touring Car class than GT,” We agree Robert and look forward to the 2009 season.

Like Billy Bragg, The OMC goes back to basics.

When The Online Motorsports Club started out, we were dedicated to both racing and general auto news. We also ran a Toca 3 based Xbox league, which was the continuance of the Forza Motorsports Enthusiasts Club. Well while at the 12 Hours of Sebring, two members of the FMEC and one outside friend hashed out the idea to start the OMC. Well we had two good years, and actually had some good movement for about one and a half of that. Well with our main contributor preparing to move to California and finish up on his Degree, we found ourselves with less and less info and eventually we had a major system melt down that put us back to square one.

So in order to slowly rebuild to what we once were, The Online Motorsports Club is going to go back to its roots and focus on the gaming aspect again, and with any luck we may return back to the news and information site that we once aspired to be. So without further ado, I am proud to announce that the OMC will be working with Champion Motorsports to create the Champion Motorsports Driver Development Program. With myself and soon Graham Mauterer making the move away from console racing and into the PC World, I hope that we can bring on a few of the old school OMC guys and introduce the fantastic world of PC simulation racing.

Thank you for your support over the years and keep an eye out for what is next here at the OMC.
